  1. Thanks for the timely information about Moringa. I’m not sure if I’ve heard about it before. As a catering instructor it is great to be introduced to something new that is so rich in nutrients.

So I’ve got a couple of questions.

You say that it is great for mothers. Are there any benefits for men outside of the obvious nutrient dense make up of Moringa?

Also are there any specific dishes that contain Moringa as a significant ingredient?

Many thanks and all the best

    • Hi Andrew,

Mem and women get equal nutrition except pregnant mothers who get calcium from moringa much needed at child bearing and breast feeding stage stage.

One of the dishes I enjoy is cooking moringa leaves with moong lentils. Just boil them. I like to flavor it by seasoning with oil and mustard leaves. However that is an option.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

  2. Hi there, I have heard that moringa is a very nutritious plant, but did not realize that it contained so many nutrients, and was so much higher than many other foods. The nutrients that you mention, would that be in the fresh leaves, or would it also be the case if the leaves were dried?

How would you normally incorporate moringa into your diet, can you just add it to a salad, or do you put it into a stirfry or a curry? What is the flavor like, a bit like coriander, or not as strong? Thanks.

    • Moringa is a superfood containing treasure trove of healthful nutrients. It has been recognized as the plant to use for  eliminating the malnutrition around the world. Researches are ongoing for improving the yield of this crop.

The raw and dried leaves both provide great nutrition equally. The fruits, called drum sticks are filled with nutrition as well.

The leaves have a unique flavor. They are in stronger at the side of the smell. As you have mentioned you can use the leaves in salad, add on to curries, stir fry as such, cook with whole Moong and other lentils, make a tea out of the raw leaves, add to pancakes etc.

Thank you for your questions. I hope I answered them well.

  3. Growing up, I was always told to eat my greens.  At the time, the only greens I understood were lettuce!  Oh, how little I knew!

Now that I’m in the culinary industry as a cook and caterer, I’m often on the hunt for new recipe ideas, as well as food items I never tried before.

To be honest, I never heard of moringa until now.  Thank you for sharing this informative article!  I’m now on the hunt for moringa!

    • I would try to love your Moringa dish.

Thank you for attempting to include high value super food to your business.

  4. It’s being considered a “superfood” for those who consume it and also for those that grow and sell it. The fast-growing and drought-resistant tree thrives in the exact locations that have high malnutrition and poverty rates in parts of western Africa, southern Asia, and South America. The thinking is that by encouraging more local consumption and sustainably spreading it globally, it might be the way out for many struggling families. Great article.

  5. I am impressed with the calcium present in Moringa. Recently my doctor told me I needed to pay attention to my Calcium levels. So, I started having more milk and naturally, some supplements. But I would like to experiment with moringa. I had heard a bit that it was good, but I didn’t know it was soo good. Thanks for sharing these numbers.

    • Hi Ann,

While there are varieties of foods to act as calcium source, moringa stands out as naturally organic superfood. It has multitudes of benefits. You got to have sufficient vitamin-D levels in your system to absorb calcium. I am just making sure you know that.

      Thank you for your time.
